The basis for the recipe is the same as when I first learned how to make this pie 27 or so years ago. I know many of you cherish memories of cooking with your own Mom or Grandmom, but alas my Mom and her Mom were born being able to burn anything – well, my Mom can make biscuts. So, I am a self taught type. But, I am working hard on changing that in my kids.
Brie and I made Key Lime Pie together, and we had a ball…
Quick Key Lime Pie
1 tub Cool Whip
1 can Condensed Milk
1 Gramham Cracker Crust (yes you can make, but we used store bought)
2 tbls to 1/2 cup lemon or lime juice
(you will need to taste to see how tart you like)
Mix the Condensed Milk, Juice, and Cool whip together. Taste as you add the juice – you can make this as tart as you like). Then place in pie shell and set in fridge for 4-6 hrs, then eat.
Simple but effective.
Brie got to share her first pie with me, Brian, Ella, Cord, Mama Jo and Pa Roy.
And I am sharing this we you.
