I was reading back over these post and I realized how schizophrenic I can sound. Most days I am to busy to think about anything other than what happens next. This week we have Fall Carnival at school (“Mommy please send stuff, volunteer, and bake a cake”), Brie has snack for 1rst grade on Monday (she wants ghost meringue cookies and monster cupcakes), plan for the dance Halloween sleep over (drinks for that party, make Witch’s brew, and get costume ready), adopted brothers just married party on Saturday, and on top of all this I have to be out-of-town for a medical meeting from Tuesday till Saturday morning.
Yikes, I just love being a working Mom. I love to make homemade goodies to send to school and my girls are not above guilt trips to get what they want. So, after a long day of prep and shopping and organizing, I think I have the week worked out. My Mom is a god send on weeks like this, because as much as I love my hubby and as great of a Dad as he is, he doesn’t do well with a list of kiddy projects.
His idea of contributing to the family Saturday was to talk to the appraiser so we can get our home loan to build a house on our farm, and to help my 8-year-old get her deer riffle sighted in. I’ll admit those were important tasks, but I think they fudged a bit on the time it takes to sight in a riffle.
Oh, the appraiser comment made me remember, I have to pick out a front door and windows before I leave.
The thought of packing all this up is slightly nauseating to me at the moment. I still have 2 totes of girls 4-5T clothes to go thru and find a home for.
I hope your Saturday was slightly less hectic than mine was.
