Well, party over. And I am tired. Anyone who has ever planned for or cooked for more than four people can tell you that any size party takes work. Tonight we had our family party for my four year old son. It was everything a family party should be. Lots of good simple food. Steaks we raised ourselves, baked potatoes, peppers with Harissa (ok maybe that’s not so simple), and asparagus with garlic. Then, birthday cake and ice cream.
Then, the true fun of family gatherings. Kids running and playing with new toys. (Yes, the four year old got an iPad but he will have to share with his Dad. But the funny thing was he liked the toy gun and remote controlled car better.) Adults all talking over each other and the state girls basket ball game blaring at top volume in the background. Visiting, laughing, and spending time together is what families do best.
Three generations of two different families came together tonight over food and fellowship to watch a little boy turn four. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
