Here is how I have spent my Sunday afternoon. Despite the migraine, I have tried to at least get two coats of MinWax Gel Stain on my fiberglass front door.
So , that is the door after the first coat.
And here is the door after the second coat. At the rate I am going, I figure its going to take another coat at least.
And I did pretty well in getting the stain off my hands. At least I understand paint and stains. These are terms I know. And things I know how to do. It just takes my little OCD self forever to do them. Also, staining a Fiberglass door is different than wood. You can’t rub the stain back off as hard as you would on real wood, or you rub it all right off. Let’s just say there is no absorbing at all.
The only depressing thing is that there is another side to the door. Two side lights, a casing, and a light over the door that all still need to be stained. (By next week!!!)
