Well, we are nearing the end of our vacation here in Florida, and I proud to say I have learned a few things.
1: the best things in life are not the things that you buy with money. For example, we spent one day at Universal, cost over $500 in tickets and food for six people verses walking along the beach at sunset picking up shells cost couple bucks in gas to get to the beach.
The kids have talked more about the beach than Universal.
2: as a family, we can have more fun out of Red Solo Cups than I could have ever imaged.
3: time with my kids is the one thing I can never replace, and its the one thing I often cut them short on.
I am sorry that my daughter had to have her appendix out to break my obsession with planning every minute of our vacations.
But, I am glad that I finally just let loose and went with the flow and let our family just be. Whether we are building stacks of solo cups or just hanging loose by the pool, I have had a ball just being in the moment with my family.
