We were blessed with a set of twin calves this year. But while the momma cow was having the second calf, the first was attacked by coyotes. She has had to overcome be dehydrated, weak, and a probable damage to her lung. (I don’t have an X-Ray here on the farm. )
She is getting stronger every day and now up nursing her mom with her sister. It looks good for her, but we still are keeping a close eye on her.
So, we now add bottle feeding her to our list of daily chores here on our farm. But, I have to admit, that is one chore the kids line up and give no fuss at all to go and help with.
