A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go.
I know that a lot of people are offended in today’s times by the thought of hunting an animal for sport, but for me and mine, hunting is family tradition and a source of food. Today was juvenile season opening day, and three of my four (yes I count my nephew here too) went out to hunt and gather). Only one succeeded today and we celebrate Brie’s harvest of her first doe. Plus, as an added bonus, she got an anatomy lesson.
I hope that those who disagree with hunting can understand our choice to pursue this as a way to provide meat for a family of six, and a way to spend time together.
Safety and sportsmanship are always stressed when we hunt with our kids. And they understand very well the damage that guns can do.
